UPTOWN GIRL #Satami

…”And when shes walking

Shes looking so fine….”

Uptown girl

,shes been living in an uptown world …

This song by Billy Joel reflects my peppy mood today. No I was not out looking for a downtown man.The scorching heat has almost baked us in Dubai  and I was singing away to get my mind off the weather.

Last weekend I walked into  a pop up store and I came across some color block dresses crowded next to each other on hangers. It was from  a brand called “SATAMI”(owned by an Emirati designer) from her line called “burqa babes”.

In the first sight I looked off and  thought these over sized dresses  would never look good on my petite body. But the designer insisted I must try them on.

I shook those concerns off and thought I must give it a try.Holy cow ! it looked stunning .

So when Satami approached me for a collaboration I was so thrilled and excited to show it off to the world.

These over sized dresses were designed keeping in mind  the modest dressing of beautiful Arab women. The best outfit is the one you feel confident, cool and sexy in and these super classy dresses was not only that but was extremely comfortable and chic.It was just that perfect summer dress that you can take from day to evening.

Color blocking is a great trend and huge on the runways ,one that is perfect for creating flattering shapes and adding a touch of brightness to the outfit.

My dressing preferences fluctuate based on my mood and the weather. So here I was  was strutting around  at ‘city walk’ (Dubai) in these uber chic and comfy dresses singing away and beating the Dubai heat.

I hope you like the post.Do share your thought what you think about the colour block trend.

FRIDAY DRESSING #Workoutfit

“Shes a lady on the move ,hustling and grinding with her beauty and her brain, shes on a mission to be the best her,she can be.”- j iron word

hello my angels
Many of you don’t know that I have a 9 to 5 job going other than being a fashion blogger.I worked in the aviation industry for a very long time and then moved to Dubai.I  dabbled into different profession but it was enjoyable ride full of learning n growth.
Dressing up for work can sometimes be a little boring especially if the dress code for work is strictly corporate.Luckily its not in my case.
So how do you dress on a Friday which is Thursday in the middle east (Fridays are weekends in the middle east)
Depending on the season whatever we wear at work should always look decent and fab.Usually when it comes to weekend work dressing,I choose to go for smart casuals .
So last Thursday I wore my wide leg pants and to add a little casual twist i wore it with polo t shirt.I threw my blue blazer over to add a professional vibe to the whole look.
I was ready to hustle .And like I always believe that no matter how you feel always have your game face on.

Hope you like this post and my weekend work outfit.

Keep Hustling

Love

Minimalistic Fashion with “BLESSED”

There are some  inspiring,”fashion for a cause “companies and non-profit organizations who believe that giving back is always in style.
One such fashion brand in Dubai is “Blessed”. Blessed is a fashion brand whose mission is to give back to the people whose life has been touched by cancer.
When Blessed approached me for collaboration there only one thing that came in my mind “may god bless such humans of this world” .When I met the designer  cum founder of the brand and heard her story I was not only moved but it reinforced the fact that  we should live each day with gratitude and be thankful for what we have in life.
And what do I tell you about their clothing line. Its minimal, chic and timeless.

.Going minimalistic with these clothes was an incredible freeing experience. They were a perfect go-to ensemble for every occasion.Styling them was like DE-stressing yourself. These simple ,straightforward minimalistic clothes made me look so effortlessly chic.
Their clothing line  is the definition of “less is more” .They were my perfect pick for this summer.

A GENTLEWOMAN—REDEFINED

I remember early last year at some fashion show in Dubai I wore my bell bottoms and some magazine had featured me saying “bringing back the bell bottoms in Dubai”
We all have rocked these flared denims in school and never wore them again when the skinny jeans started to reign. But with fashions pendulum’s swing ,I know its only a matter of time before styles from the past come back around.
Talking about school,a lot you who know me don’t know the fact that  I was quite a tomboy in school.Actually I still I am. I love being a girl but our femininity doesn’t come with terms and conditions.Dress whatever and however you want to.Clothes shouldn’t make you feel less of a woman.Agree with me ?
Reminiscing my school days,I snagged my pair of high waist bell bottom jeans (oh how I  love the modern updated version of these flared jeans ). They made me look 3 inches extra tall . Yayy!  I wore my washed denim shirtover it and threw around my plaid blazer and to give a little androgynous twist to the whole look, I wore my bandana around my neck.I completed the look with my camel colored boots and carried my vintage looking trunk bag.I must say I was so into the look.

I looked braver than I felt.

I hope you like my look.Do share your thoughts.

Be proud of who you are

Love n Hugs

Priyanka (Sunny)
